Antique octagonal medal in yellow gold signed Tschudin
Charming antique medal in 18ct yellow gold (750/1000th). Octagonal in shape, it represents Saint John and is signed by the engraver "Tschudin". French work from 1930/1940.
The medal is sold on its own, without chain, but it is possible to add one on request. The medal can also be engraved on request.
Raymond Tschudin studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Henri Dropsy's studio. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes Français, of which he was a member, winning a bronze medal in 1938 and a silver medal in 1944. He won the Grand Prix de Rome in medal engraving in 1945 and was a resident at the Villa Médicis in Rome from 1946 to 1949. He is the author of a large number of medals, often with a religious theme.
Condition: Very good, scratches from use and small bump on one side of the octagonal on the back.
