Very attractive antique medal signed by the engraver P.L. Dasset
Very pretty antique medal from the 1900s in 18ct yellow gold (750/1000th), enamel and pearls. Round in shape, it depicts the Virgin Mary in profile, with green and blue plique-a-jour enamel, surrounded by small pearls presumed to be fine. The medal is signed by the engraver P.L. Dasset. The back of the medal is blank, but can be engraved on request. The medal is sold without a chain, but a chain can be added on request.
Plique-a-jour is a technique for applying enamel without a base, so that light can filter through the transparent or translucent enamel. The effect is that of a miniature stained-glass window, a technique that is difficult to achieve.
Condition: Very good, slight wear scratches on the gold.
Weight: 5,10grs
Diameter without bezel: 2.20cm, with bezel: 3.00cm
